100% California soy wax, a single cotton wick, and fragrance oils that are phthalate-free and paraben-free. No paraffin, no blend, no dye. The wax is white because soy is white.

About forty hours from a nine-ounce jar, which in practice is four to six weeks of evening use. Burn it in three to four hour sittings rather than all day and you will get closer to the top of that range.

The first burn sets everything. Let the melted pool spread all the way to the edge of the glass before you put it out — usually about three hours. Soy has a memory, and if the first burn stops short the candle will tunnel down the middle and waste the wax around the outside. After that, trim the wick back to a quarter inch each time before lighting.

The scent. 01 is Rose + Patchouli, 02 Mimosa + Pineapple, 03 White Tea + Jasmine, 04 Coconut + Orange, and 00 is unscented — just the joke, no fragrance at all. The letters and digits beside it are the design code, which is how you find this exact candle again.

White Tea + Jasmine is the one most people choose and the safest for a gift — light, clean, nobody objects. Rose + Patchouli is the warmest. Coconut + Orange is the sweetest. Mimosa + Pineapple is the brightest. And 00 exists because sometimes the sentence is the whole present and a scented candle would be one thing too many.

Yes, and it is worth it. Once the wax is done, pour a little boiling water in, let it sit, and the last of it lifts straight out. The jar takes pens, brushes, a small plant, or a drink.
