100% California soy wax, a single cotton wick, and fragrance oils that are phthalate free and paraben free. No paraffin, no blend, no dye. The wax is white because soy is white.

One rule: every time you light it, leave it until the melted pool reaches the edge of the glass. That usually takes half an hour to an hour, not the three or four hours people often repeat. Soy remembers where it stopped, so if you blow it out while there's still a ring of solid wax around the outside, it will keep melting only that narrower circle and waste the rest. Trim the wick back to a quarter inch before each burn and it will behave.

That's the scent. 01 is Rose + Patchouli, 02 Mimosa + Pineapple, 03 White Tea + Jasmine, 04 Coconut + Orange, and 00 is unscented, for when the words are the whole present.

White Tea + Jasmine is the one most people choose and the safest for a gift: light, clean, nobody objects. Mimosa + Pineapple is the brightest of the four. Coconut + Orange is the warm one, and the most unisex, so it is a good pick when you are not sure of someone's taste. Rose + Patchouli is earthy, much closer to a bunch of real roses than to anything perfumed. And 00 exists because sometimes a scented candle would be one thing too many.

Yes, and it's worth it. Once the wax is done, pour a little boiling water in, let it sit, and the last of it lifts straight out. The jar takes pens, brushes, a small plant, or a drink.

Yes, unused, within 7 days of it arriving. Return postage is $7.50 and there's a 25% restocking fee. A candle that's been to your house can't go back on the shelf, so returns go to donation rather than back into stock, and the fee covers the candle. This is fixable at home and you don't need to write to us. Wrap a collar of aluminium foil around the top of the jar, leaving a small opening over the middle so it can breathe, and light it. The foil holds the heat in against the ring of solid wax and it melts back down level. Once the top is flat again, take the foil off and burn it normally, always until the pool reaches the edge.
